Our 
Story

Welcome to Toulston Hall Farm—a family-run operation steeped in tradition, ethical practices, and a true passion for premium, farm-fresh products. We proudly produce the finest goat meat in a range of exquisite cuts, all raised on a natural, grass-based diet that includes fresh grass, haylage, and even beans and barley grown right here on the farm. Our methods, honed over generations of farming near Tadcaster in North Yorkshire, ensure that each animal is nurtured to produce a lean, succulent product bursting with flavor.

Our goat meat is not only a culinary delight but also a nutritional powerhouse—it’s very similar in taste to lamb, yet offers a more tender and delicate flavor. High in protein and iron, and naturally low in fat and cholesterol, it’s both tasty and healthy. You can be assured that our meat is produced to the highest welfare standards, making it a growing favorite in many UK kitchens. Its ability to absorb flavors means that whether you’re crafting dishes from Caribbean, Indian, Mexican, or traditional Yorkshire recipes (what 'mum'-Sally might perfect in a hearty casserole or stew), our goat meat stands out as the versatile, gourmet choice.

Our farm’s journey began with George’s first entrepreneurial venture—a humble pumpkin patch he started at the age of 13. The profits from that venture allowed him to buy his first goats at 14, many of which are still an integral part of our herd today. Each member of our flock is cared for like royalty, with special nods to long-standing favorites like the beloved billy goat, Brian. This deep-rooted connection to our animals underpins everything we do here.

Every autumn, our pumpkin patch opens its inviting fields every weekend in October and throughout the half-term week—the last week of October. In 2025, as we celebrate our 9th year, we’re excited to welcome both new and familiar faces. We cherish hearing your stories, from the creative carvings to the innovative ways you use our squashes in your cooking. This year we’re debuting some exciting new varieties that we can’t wait for you to experience.

In 2025, we also reached another milestone by acquiring our first catering trailer, dedicated exclusively to selling 100% our premium goat meat. This mobile showcase is a testament to our commitment to quality and versatility, displaying the brilliant taste and texture of our product across diverse culinary traditions—from international flavors to that classic Yorkshire “rib-sticking stuff” that turns any meal into a celebration.

Expanding our range even further, in 2020 we began making our very own goat milk soap. Beloved by our continued customers, this soap works wonders on dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. We were honored to be featured in Chris Berry’s piece in the Yorkshire Post, a nod to our unwavering commitment to excellence at every stage of production—from the care of our animals to the final crafted product.
